“CD” Profile/Protected Fire Proofing “Disconnect” Advantages

  1. “CD” profiles have cured intumescent located down track legs accommodating spray applied fire protection to Fluted Metal Deck. “Pre-track” installation provides horizontal support allowing spray applied fireproofing to fill and seal fluted areas above and around walls during deck application.
  2. Cured intumescent located behind wall sheathing provides unencumbered joint protection eliminating overlapping sprays or caulks on to both sheathing and spray applied fireproofing providing a “disconnect” avoiding any fatigue or dislodging of the fireproofing substrate during assembly life cycle.
  3. Density and characteristics of spray applied fire resistive materials filling flutes and encompassing track provides smoke, fire, and hose stream protection and improves sound rating over less dense mineral wool stuffing materials.

UL certified BlazeFrame profiles and “protected deck” assemblies experience no fatigue to substrate and joint protection materials during dynamic or cyclical movement and (refer to UL Fire Resistance Directory HW-D-0512) are certified for:

  1. Up to 3” overall joint protection
  2. Movement capabilities of:
    • Level I – Thermal
    • Level II – Wind Sway
    • Level III – Seismic
  3. Lowest achievable leakage rating:
    • Less than 1 CFM/Lin Ft at both ambient and elevated 400 deg F
  4. Support of spray applied fire proofing materials as flute fill protection
