Exterior (non-rated) Slotted Track Advantages

BlazeFrame “ESL” Exterior (non-rated) Slotted Track Advantages

BlazeFrame ESL (no joint degradation) Profile with Corrugation (degradation):

  1. “ESL” profiles have slotted legs with 1 1/2” or 2” slots located 1” below profile web. The 1” of solid surface area increases ability to install properly ensuring substrate attachment of wall sheathing materials extending down from “upper” floor spanning slab or deck
  2. Provides a “smooth” aligned surface between floors and expansion joint isn’t encumbered by additional “ribs” or “corrugations” in track profile leg which displace, degrade, and damage wall sheathing from “lower” floor when joint experiences or is in compression.
  3. Installer can use simple drywall “shim” piece to set joint width and hold material in place while fastening wall sheathing in 1” of solid surface area. Eliminates “guess work” of trying to attach sheathing without hitting a pre-punched slot (current issue with standard slotted track profiles possibly resulting in sheathing not secured to substrate).
  4. Once sheathing is attached “shim” is removed allowing installation of exterior expansion joint control materials. Shim is then used as a jig for rest of the sheets being installed.
