BlazeFrame “OL” Offset Leg Productivity Advantages

One Product – One Tool – One Time
“OL” profiles have offset legs and variable “upper leg” lengths accommodating required spray applied fireproofing materials and thicknesses deeper than 1/2” for UL certified ratings on independently protected structural supports and substrates. “Pre-track” installation provides horizontal support enabling spray applied fire proofing to fill and seal areas including flutes above walls, space above offset legs, and around structural supports during application. Use of the offset leg profiles can increase productivity over typical current construction methods by:
- Ordering, handling, and installation of only the appropriate OL profile prior to fire proofing (power actuated gun and pins)
- Scrape overspray from “lower” track cavity, legs, and affixed fire stop with “dual slot” scrapper during fire proofing application
- Install stud and drywall overlapping intumescent materials on track
In comparison to:
- Ordering, handling, and mobilization to install Z-clips prior to fire proofing (power actuated gun and pins)
- Mobilization to scrape bottom of Z-clips and excess fire proofing extending beyond zclip depth between Z-clips prior to track installation
- Ordering, handling, and mobilization to install “top deflection track” (screw gun and screws)
- Mobilization to spray apply, hand pack, or caulk “pass-through” gaps or voids between top track and fire proofing (not enough installed or knocked/scrapped off)
- Install studs and drywall
- Mobilization to apply caulk or “stuff and spray” fire stopping to joint
